Fishing Overview: Bluefin Tuna (Casting/Jigging)

The approach to catching Tuna on artificial lures is not for everyone. If you seek the adrenalin rush from watching a fish peel hundreds of yards of line at speeds of up to 60 mph, where tackle is tested to its utmost - destroying any and all subpar equipment, and fights that average an hour long, then this form of fishing may just be for you.  The MOST extreme form of light-tackle sportfishing around is tuna casting/jigging. ..

Generally, expect to use one or more of the following techniques on these trips: Jigging; Casting; NO BAIT. Typical tackle used:

Jigging: Spinning or Conventional reels with minimally 25lb drag at strike; spooled with 65lb braided/80-130lb fluorocarbon leader line.

Casting: Spinning reels with minimally 25lb drag at strike; spooled with 65lb braided/80-130lb fluorocarbon leader line.

Fishing Equipment: Anglers are strongly encouraged to bring their own equipment, especially jigs and topwater lures. In some cases, tackle may be provided upon request.

Fare: $300 per angler.

Fare does not include gratuity, transportation, or meals. If you are interested in carpooling with other customers, feel free to contact us. Our company also offers a shuttle service to and from the marina for this charter.
