Gulf Stream Jigging
From Saturday, September 11 2010 -  5:00am
To Sunday, September 12 2010 - 5:00pm

Charter: Liveline Charters

Fishing Overview: Gulf Stream Jigging

The approach to deepwater jigging is not typical compared to local fishing in NY. Vertical jigging is a specialized form of fishing that involves rapidly working a lead-based lure up and down the water column. On average, you will be fishing between 200-300ft of water. Expect to catch a diverse array of species- amberjack, mahi mahi, grouper, pompano, or tuna. We readily have customers catch giant fish. In 2009, some caught 100+lbs amberjack, 70+lbs wahoo, and even 400+lbs sharks on these trips.

1. Generally, expect to use the following techniques on these trips: 100-400gram jigs

2. Typical tackle used: Specialized rods between 4'8" to 5'6"; specialized spinning or jigging reels with 60-100lb braided line.

Each trip is booked for a mandatory two days. Pricing will vary depending on whether trips are booked for 4 or 5 persons.
